Sweetie – The Heart of the Movement

Before she ever graced a coffee bag or curled up in a warm bed, Sweetie lived on the unforgiving streets of San Antonio, Texas. She was a stray, surviving however she could. She had multiple litters of puppies with no safe place to raise them, no food source she could rely on, and no human to offer her the affection every dog deserves.

Her turning point came after she suffered a devastating injury to her front leg. A kind-hearted rancher found her on his property—alone, bleeding, and in desperate need of help. Thanks to that rancher, Sweetie was transported to a rescue with veterinary resources, where the medical team did everything, they could. But there was no saving her leg.

​

After her surgery, Sweetie waited. She healed. And she hoped. That’s when she met her people.

 

The moment they saw Sweetie’s face, something clicked. She was five years old, heartworm positive, and one of the sweetest, gentlest spirits they had ever met.

​

Since then, Sweetie has lived in multiple states, flown on commercial flights, and made it her job to protect the family from every suspicious delivery truck that dares come near her family.

​

Today, Sweetie is the face of our second Twitchy Coffee edition. Her illustration appears on our limited-edition bag, and her story inspires everything we do.
